Hundreds of people took to the streets of Haxby and Wigginton for Bank Holiday weekend after both were taking over by more than 200 strange and silent figures.
Fortunately it wasn’t a zombie attack but the scarecrow festival. More than 200 had been made, including a hippy in the cemetery, a monster in the pond and Spiderman in a shop window.
Organised by Haxby And Wigginton Methodist Church, the scarecrow festival included a number of different trails, quizzes and refreshments. All money raised went to Phambili ngeThemba, a community organisation boosting employment and education opportunities in Cape Town, South Africa.
Here are a few of the ones that caught our eye. If you’ve any pix you’d like to add to the gallery, send them to us here.
