Two people have been seriously injured in a crash on the York ring road.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the crash that occurred on the on the A1237.
It happened between the A59 roundabout and the B1224 roundabout near Knapton at approximately 8.20pm on Wednesday (January 4).
The collision involved a grey Landrover Discovery and a black Toyota Yaris.
Police appeal
Two people were trapped inside the Toyota. A fire crew from Acomb released them using hydraulic cutting equipment.
The two were taken by ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. The Landrover driver escaped uninjured.
Sgt Paul Cording of the Force Roads Policing Group said: “If you saw either of the vehicles prior to the collision or witnessed the collision itself then please contact us.”
