Two people hurt in serious York crash

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash in York.

The accident saw a car and a van collide on Hull Road, outside the Black Bull pub, at 1.45pm.

Police officers, firefighters and paramedics went to the scene.

Fire crews from Acomb and York used cutting gear to release casualties.

Two patients taken to York Hospital for treatment. No information is yet available about the extent of their injuries.

The road was blocked in both directions for some time after the accident.

First York diverted its number 8 and 10 services via Field Lane and Green Dykes.
