York firefighters were called to two car fires within minutes of each other – and they believe the cause was deliberate.
The first call was at 7.13pm on Tuesday (May 30). Crews from Acomb and Huntington were called to a Nissan on fire on Outgang Lane.
Firefighters put out the blaze but the vehicle was completely destroyed.
Three minutes later, at 7.16pm, a crew from York went to a Land Rover on fire on the nearby A166 at Murton.
Again the car was completely destroyed.
In both cases the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service reported: “The cause was deliberate.”
