Woman hit by a van on the A64
Further to our previous updates on an accident on the A64 near York today, we now know a woman pedestrian was hurt in the incident.
This from North Yorkshire Police:

We were called at 10.38am to the A64 eastbound carriageway between the Askham and Fulford junctions when a woman pedestrian was hit by a van.
The woman, who is in her 40s, sustained an arm injury and was taken to York Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and it reopened at around 12pm.

Further to our update at 11:25 am the A64 near York has reopened.
Serious accident closes the A64 eastbound near York
The A64 eastbound is closed between the A1036 for Askham Bar and A19 Fulford Road.
This is due to a serious traffic collision. North Yorkshire Police are on the scene.
Motorists are asked to find an alternative route if possible.

The A64 is closed between Askham Bar and Fulford Interchange, buses will be diverting via Wetherby and will be missing out York College, we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you

Fire in York bedroom ‘started deliberately’
Three fire crews were called out to a home in the Groves area at 8.09pm last night.
Crews from York, Acomb and Huntington put out a fire in one of the bedrooms.
It caused slight damage to items in the room. A spokesman for the fire service told the Press: “We believe the cause was deliberate.”
Missing man may be in York

Jonathan Christopher is missing from his home in Lincoln, and he may be in the York area.
He has dark brown hair which is receding at the front and a full beard with grey patches round the chin.
