It’s set to be the most explosive night of the year in York – and you could be in the thick of the excitement for free.
Kaboom promises to be a spectacular festival of fireworks, live music and thrills as the city once again enjoys a Bonfire Night fitting for the home of Guy Fawkes.
Fully-choreographed pyrotechnics, lighting and special effects will illuminate the skies over Rawcliffe Country Park in York, which hosts Kaboom this Sunday, November 4. The show will be synchronised to a specially-commissioned music track and will include a re-enactment of the Gunpowder Plot.
X Factor finalist Marcus Collins, runner up to Little Mix in the 2011 final, then tops the bill of a live entertainment show. A huge funfair and the chance to tuck into traditional bonfire night goodies including baked potatoes, toffee apples, cinder toffee and hot chocolate, are also being laid on.
“This is the first public firework display in York, the birthplace of Guy Fawkes, for 16 years. We will light up the skies of this historic city to mark its connections with the famous conspirator,” said Mark Brayshaw, managing director of Rockin’ Horse Promotions, organisers of the event.
“It will be an awesome display and we look forward to welcoming families from across Britain to join in the fun.”
Thanks to the organisers we have five family tickets – for two adults and up to three children – for Kaboom to give away. And one of those five will get to go backstage and meet Marcus Collins himself.
