The best in Yorkshire tourism was celebrated last night – with a number of York businesses among the winners.
This year’s White Rose Awards was the biggest yet with more awards up for grabs than ever before; 103 finalists battled it out to win in 19 categories.
Held in the First Direct Arena in Leeds, the awards ceremony saw footballer turned pundit Chris Kamara singing festive songs from his debut album Here’s To Christmas before the prizes were given out.
It was a good night for York, particularly in the International Tourism Award category, where Castle Howard took gold, Visit York silver and the Grand Hotel bronze.
The Grand took gold in the Large Hotel of the Year. And the Grays Court Hotel made it a double by winning the Small Hotel of the Year award.
