A teenage girl in York was the victim of a serious assault in a wooded area close to York.
North Yorkshire Police Serious Crime Team are investigating the attack on the teenage girl in Strensall. It happened at about 8pm on Sunday (March 13).
The incident occurred in woodland adjacent to a playpark between Pasture Close and Kirklands in Strensall.
No more details about the assault are being released by police at this stage.
Police are looking to trace witnesses to the attack, in particular a number of teenage youths who were playing football nearby. One of them had a white coloured moped with him.
Members of the public who witnessed anything that night – or can assist with names or identities of the youths playing football at approximately 8pm are asked to contact police.
