A York shop has been broken into for the second time in five weeks – but a suspect is already under arrest.
An intruder alarm sounded at the Select Convenience shop and post office on North Moor Road, Huntington at 3.40am today (Friday, 28 June).
North Yorkshire Police officers responded immediately and carried out an area search.
At 4.15am, a 31-year-old man was found by police in a garden nearby. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary, and taken to custody, where he remains at this time.
A large amount of suspected stolen tobacco products were recovered in the garden.
The same store was targeted on May 23. Burglars smashed their way in and attempted to steal from the cash machine.
