Well we won’t be short of striking options next season.
The latest goal-hunter to be signed by York City FC is Macaulay Langstaff. He has comes to Bootham Crescent from Vanarama National League side Gateshead, the second striker to join the Minstermen in two days.
Langstaff, 21, is the fourth player to make the move from Gateshead to City this summer – following in the footsteps of Russ Penn, Jordan Burrow, and Wes York.
He is also the latest centre forward, to add to Burrow – and Jake Wright, who signed 24 hours earlier.
Manager Martin Gray said:
Macaulay is a young, up-and-coming, centre-forward who is very quick around the box and a good finisher.
He was a late starter in the game and Gateshead were desperate to keep him.
After starting his career in the Northern League with Billingham Synthonia, Langstaff joined Gateshead in February 2017.
He made five appearances for Gateshead last season but also spent two periods on loan at Blyth Spartans in Vanarama National League North – making his Spartans’ debut against City at Croft Park in August.
