A racegoer assaulted a man selling items close to York Racecourse after Saturday’s meeting.
A man selling items on Racecourse Road was assaulted by the racegoer leaving the course at around 6.50pm on Saturday (July 29).
“Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” said a spokesman for North Yorkshire Police.
“In particular, we are appealing for any persons who may have witnessed the disturbance.”
