A thief burgled a house in York and then stole a car belonging to its residents.
It happened between 11.30pm on Thursday 14 November and 6.30am on Friday 15 November, and involved a suspect or suspects gaining access into a student house on Heslington Road.
They stole a black Puma puffer jacket containing bank cards, house keys and a vehicle belonging to the victim. The vehicle has since been recovered by police on Blakeney Place.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said:

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing for information about a black Citroen C1 being driven around the Hull Road and Heslington Road area of York in the early hours of 15 November.
The police reminded people to “remain vigilant and ensure your property is left secure when going out or going to bed”. Please report any suspicious activity to the police via 101 or if it is an emergency please call 999.
