Police find machete, knife, balaclavas and drugs after stopping car in York

This lethal looking weapon was discovered in a car stopped by police in York.

The machete, with an 18-inch blade, was only one of the finds when officers stopped a car in the Hull Road area at about 2.50am on Friday (April 21).

They also found a kitchen knife and drugs.

North Yorkshire police posted on Facebook:

On searching the vehicle, we found a machete, a kitchen knife, two balaclavas, and what is believed to be cannabis and heroin.

A man and a woman, both in their 30s and from the York area, have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently being detained in police custody while investigations continue.
