Demelza Poldark was a long way from Cornwall on Friday.
Demelza, in real life actor Eleanor Tomlinson, called in for a spot of lunch in Café FeVa. She starred in the BBC drama for two hit series of Poldark, set on the south-west coast in the late 18th century.
The café, found on the first floor of Red House Antiques in Duncombe Place, was delighted to welcome her.
Owner Lloyd Villanueva shared a shot of him with Eleanor and said:
-
Demelza of Poldark ‘Eleanor Tomlinson’ enjoyed her Lunch @cafefeva today! She was very pretty and sweet indeed.
Keep an eye out she’s in York!
In fact Eleanor, who also starred as Princess Isabelle in Jack the Giant Slayer, has strong Yorkshire connections.
Although born in London, she moved with her family to Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, England when she was young and attended Beverley High School.
Lloyd opened Café FeVa last October after spotting the business up for sale on Gumtree.
Only a short distance from York Minster, it has five stars on TripAdvisor.
