A woman cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after a collision with a lorry in York.
The 25-year-old woman from York had to be airlifted to hospital after the accident at around 8am on Wednesday (March 8).
The blue Jewson’s lorry was turning left from Hazel Court onto James Street, and the cyclist was travelling along James Street towards Lawrence Street, when the collision occurred.
Yorkshire Air Ambulance took the cyclist to Leeds General Infirmary after she suffered serious injuries.
Witness appeal
The lorry driver wasn’t hurt and voluntarily attended the police station to assist officers with the investigation.
James Street was closed until 1pm to allow police to examine the scene and the vehicles involved.
