Two people have been saved from York’s rivers in separate incidents.
At about half past midnight this morning (Saturday, July 21), volunteers from York Rescue Boat were called into action when a person entered the River Ouse with stones in their pockets.
The boat patrol spotted them and was rescued in “a very distressed state”. Support was provided by the emergency services.
And this afternoon at about 4.20pm, a man was in the River Foss in York.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
-
