Police stopped a suspected drink driver in his tracks after a crash on the A64.
The collision happened between Malton and York. Just before midnight on Monday (December 10) a car drove into an area of roadworks, collided with a works vehicle, and sped off.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group located the car a short time later, and a stinger was deployed on the A64 near the Hopgrove Roundabout to bring it safely to a stop.
A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, and failing to report an accident.
He remains in custody while enquiries into the incident continues.
