The man whose body was recovered from the River Foss has now been identified.
He was Lee Evennett, 48, from York.
Lee was reported missing on 29 March 2019, although he was last in contact with someone four days earlier.
North Yorkshire Police issued an appeal for information about his whereabouts, saying they were increasingly concerned for his safety and welfare.
In an update on Sunday evening (7 April), police said:

At this time, there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
