Police are investigating a suspicious incident involving a man with an axe in York.
The incident occurred on Rydal Avenue in Tang Hall at around 6.50pm on Thursday (24 January) when a man approached another man in a threatening manner.
The offender is described as
- a white male
- about 6ft tall
- of slim and athletic build
- aged in his late 20s to early 30s
- wearing a black woollen hat
- and a black coat.
At the time of the incident he was also carrying an axe which was around 3 to 4ft long with a yellow handle.
Following the incident the man walked off in the direction of Bellerby Court.
Officers are appealing to anyone who either witnessed the incident, the events surrounding it or who believes they know the identity of the man involved, to contact them with information.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation should contact North Yorkshire Police.
