A new gym is set to open in York this spring.

The Ultra Flex chain is now converting an 11,000 sq ft property on Layerthorpe into a fitness complex.

It will include a fully-equipped gym, with a large range of free weights as well as cardio and resistance machines, a 25m prowler track, nutritional supplements and sun beds.

The complex will also feature a studio, café, barber shop and physio centre.

Ultra Flex York is due to open in May.

Ten year lease

The business has taken a ten year lease on the former Topps Tiles premises on Layerthorpe.

Manager of Ultra Flex York Mike Motanov said:

  • Layerthorpe is a great location, close to the city centre while offering lots of parking for our members.

The premises also gives us plenty of space to feature a huge range of high quality exercise kit from all over the world which is proving so popular at our other gyms.
