One time front man of Boyzone and proud owner of three solo UK number one hits, Ronan Keating is making a surprise return to York.

Seventeen years after Boyzone-mad fans queued outside the Barbican to see their boy-band heroes in 1999 Keating is back.

Such is the popularity of his 2016 UK tour that four new dates have been added, including one at the York Barbican on Wednesday, September 16.

Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 10).

Twenty two years of making music have resulted in an impressive tally of achievements, including 40 million album sales with Boyzone and 22 million copies sold of nine solo albums.

Keating also won an Ivor Novello Award for Picture Of You (1997).

After Boyzone split Keating hit the top of the charts again, with When You Say Nothing At All, Life Is A Rollercoaster and If Tomorrow Never Comes all hitting number one in Britain.

His tenth studio album, Time Of My Life, was released in February.

Keating said:

This is the music I’ve always wanted to make. This is who I am and it feels absolutely right.

To go out with all this new material, and playing guitar, will be so exciting. These songs were written for live performance
