A man jumped in the river in York – and then was promptly thrown out of the city centre.

The incident happened around 7pm last night (Thursday, 30 July).

The man leapt from Skeldergate Bridge into the water

NYP York City on Twitter said: “Male in his 30s thought it would be a laugh to ‘cool off’, by jumping in the river from Skeldergate Bridge.

“Luckily for him he got out.

“He has been dispersed from York city centre using section 35 powers to disperse.

“We will not tolerate such reckless behaviour.”
