A man has been charged by York police following a stabbing incident on Wednesday (June 28).
The 34-year-old man has been charged with wounding, possessing an offensive weapon in public and possessing heroin.
It follows the violent incident in Margaret Street off Walmgate which saw armed officers respond.
The man is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court today (June 30).

Man stabbed in York street – armed police respond
Armed police were called out to a suspected stabbing on a York street today.
A team of officers, including the Firearms Support Unit, were called to an address on Margaret Street, off Walmgate, at 2.30pm on Wednesday (June 28) following reports of a violent disturbance.
A man has been taken to hospital for treatment to a leg injury.
The suspect, who is aged in his 30s, was arrested at a property on nearby Hope Street. He is being held in custody for questioning.
