York police are apppealing for information surrounding a city centre assault that left a man injured.
It happened on High Petergate at about 12.53pm on Sunday, January 14.
The victim, a white man in his early 50s from York, was “assaulted by an unknown male resulting in injury”, said a force spokeswoman.
North Yorkshire Police have issued this description of the suspect.

“We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” said the spokeswoman.
“In particular, we are appealing for information about the suspect involved in the assault.”
