A York man was threatened, verbally abused and kicked on a main city street.
The incident happened on Barbican Road at about 7pm on Thursday (16 April), and involved the victim being approached by a male suspect and threatened.
The victim then walked off and was kicked, and homophobic abuse used against him, by the suspect.
A man, aged 29, has been arrested in connection with the incident, and charged with assault and attempted robbery.
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for further information. A force spokeswoman said:
We are continuing to request the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
In particular, we are appealing for information to identify any witnesses.
