A man has been charged with attempted wounding after a police community support officer was threatened with a knife.
The man, 29, was arrested in York on Wednesday (March 29). It followed an incident that happened at around 3pm the same day.
A York PCSO was threatened by a man with a knife on Crombie Avenue before he stole his police cycle.
The arrested man has also been charged with the possession of a knife. He is due to appear at York Magistrates’ Court on April 27.
He faces two further charges of cycle theft relating to two incidents on March 18 and 19. These are unrelated to Wednesday’s incident. He will appear at court on April 6 in relation to these offences.
He has also been recalled to prison for breach of licence.
