A man needed stitches to his face after an attack in York city centre.
The incident happened outside Tesco Express on Low Ousegate between 9pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday 17 December.
Police say a group of men were walking down Low Ousegate and appeared to talk to a woman.
Following an altercation, a man threw a pint glass at another man.
The injured man was taken to York Hospital with a cut to his chin, which required stitches.
Police have issued CCTV of a man they would like to speak to following the assault.
Officers are asking members of the public to get in touch if they recognise the person in the image as they believe he will have information that will help the investigation.
