A 20-year-old man from York has been arrested following an assault in the city.
It occurred on Crichton Avenue, shortly after midnight on Tuesday 27 August 2013, when a 36-year-old man asked a group of youths to move away from a car parked in the street.
The victim was hit on the head with a piece of wood, causing a cut which needed medical treatment.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent a short time later. He currently remains in police custody.
Detective Constable Emma Newton, of York CID, said: “If you were in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, I urge you to contact the police straight away.
“I am particularly keen to speak to any other members of the group who were not involved in the assault and ask them to get in touch.”
