Location: River Foss, York
At 0806 hours the Fire Service were contacted by the Ambulance Service to help them with a 33 year old male stranded in shallow water in the River Foss.
The reason the male was stranded was that he had damage to one of his arms which prevented him climbing the steep bank out of the water.
Fire and water Rescue crews from Acomb and York attended. Crews used a triple extension ladder to rescue him he was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
