Do you love to sing? Why not take your passion to the next level and join a new women’s choir in York.

Prima Cantica is the female-only choir founded by Prima Choral Artists.

Run by Ewa Salecka and Greg Birch, the musical began with a concert at St Olave’s Church in 2009 and took them to New York’s Carnegie Hall in 2014.

Combining their formula of lively rehearsals and professional modern training techniques, Ewa and Greg have created this fresh new venture for female singers of all ages and backgrounds.

You will be singing in harmony with experienced vocal coaching and professional accompaniment. There are no auditions and no experience necessary.

The vibrant, friendly rehearsals offer a fresh take on jazz, soul, swing, contemporary classical and world music.

Diverse and quality musical arrangements are designed to both entertain the audiences and to celebrate the delight of singing itself.

Prima Cantica is designed to be a fun new perspective on familiar music embracing entertaining material from some more unusual sources.

Concerts are already being planned for the new group.

This is a rewarding opportunity to be involved in an artistic project that will both gently challenge and stimulate a broad musical awareness within a warm supportive circle.
