York City are top of the league – and will stay there for the foreseeable future, without another game in sight.

The National League board met today and decided to suspend its competitions indefinitely – including National League North.

In a statement the National League said:

  • The National League is currently obtaining specialist legal advice, is consulting regularly with The Football Association and other stakeholders, and is committed to involving its member clubs in a pending decision on how best to conclude the 2019/20 season.

York City FC issued a statement of their own, saying: “York City Football Club will continue liaise with the league and fellow clubs regarding this matter and update supporters with any new information.”
