Wednesday update: Another coronavirus case confirmed in York

One further coronavirus case was confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 26 August).

That takes the cumulative total in the city to 956 – a cumulative infection rate of 453.9 cases per 100,000 people.

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 4.3 new cases per 100,000 people (nine cases in the week to 23 August). That’s down from 5.2 in the previous seven days (11 cases in the week to 16 August).

In North Yorkshire there were three new cases confirmed today, taking the total to 2,697 – an infection rate of 436.4 cases per 100K.

There are 142 cases in Ryedale (no change), 334 in Selby (up two), 765 in Harrogate (up one), 325 in Hambleton (no change), 571 in Scarborough (no change), 286 in Richmondshire (no change) and 274 in Craven (no change).

There were no more coronavirus related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust reported today – the total remains at 214. The last death recorded within the trust was on 18 June.

The total includes 134 in York Hospital and 80 in Scarborough.
