Wednesday update: 32 more coronavirus cases in York

Another 32 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Wednesday, 18 November).

This takes the cumulative total to 5,291 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,512.1 cases per 100,000 people.

Due to the adjusted count methods, in the last seven days 1,009 positive Covid-19 tests have been added to the total in York – a rise of 652 (+182.6%).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 170.5 new cases per 100,000 people (359 cases in the week to 14 November). That’s down from 187.5 in the previous seven days (395 cases in the week to 7 November).

At the University of York, there were 55 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Wednesday it has been notified of five new cases, included in that figure.

At York St John University, there were ten people self isolating due to a positive test on Tuesday.

In North Yorkshire, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases went up by 237, taking the cumulative total to 11,809 – an infection rate of 1,910.7 cases per 100K.

There are 622 cases in Ryedale (up 13), 1,842 in Selby (up 50), 3,254 in Harrogate (up 50), 1,543 in Hambleton (up 28), 2,519 in Scarborough (up 49), 864 in Richmondshire (up 19) and 1,165 in Craven (up 28).

There were no more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today.

That leaves the total at 261. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
