Thursday update: Two more coronavirus deaths at York Hospital
There were two more Covid-19 related deaths at York Hospital reported today (Thursday, 5 November)
And another 59 coronavirus cases were confirmed in the city.
This takes the cumulative total to 3,984 – giving an overall infection rate of 1,891.6 cases per 100,000 people.
In the last seven days there have been 395 positive Covid-19 tests in York – which is down by 122 (-23.6%).
The rolling seven-day rate in York is 184.2 new cases per 100,000 people, as at 1 November.
At the University of York, there were 66 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Wednesday it has been notified of 5 new cases, included in that figure.
At York St John University there were 22 people self isolating due to a positive test on Wednesday.

In North Yorkshire, there were 259 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today, taking the cumulative total to 9,113 – an infection rate of 1,474.5 cases per 100K.
There are 486 cases in Ryedale (up 10), 1,431 in Selby (up 37), 2,719 in Harrogate (up 96), 1,262 in Hambleton (up 36), 1,515 in Scarborough (up 51), 755 in Richmondshire (up 22) and 945 in Craven (up seven).
There were three more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today – two at York Hospital and one at Scarborough.
That takes the total to 237. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
