Thursday update: 54 more coronavirus cases in York

Another 54 coronavirus cases were confirmed in York today (Thursday, 19 November).

This takes the cumulative total to 5,345 – giving an overall infection rate of 2,537.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Due to the adjusted count methods, in the last seven days 1,007 positive Covid-19 tests have been added to the total in York – a rise of 653 (+184.5%).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 173.3 new cases per 100,000 people (365 cases in the week to 15 November). That’s down from 179.9 in the previous seven days (379 cases in the week to 8 November).

At the University of York, there were 46 individuals self isolating due to a positive Covid-19 test today. Since the previous update on Wednesday it has been notified of one new case, included in that figure.

At York St John University, there were ten people self isolating due to a positive test on Tuesday.

In North Yorkshire, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases went up by 226, taking the cumulative total to 12,035 – an infection rate of 1,947.2 cases per 100K.

There are 639 cases in Ryedale (up 17), 1,890 in Selby (up 48), 3,313 in Harrogate (up 59), 1,565 in Hambleton (up 22), 2,565 in Scarborough (up 46), 881 in Richmondshire (up 17) and 1,182 in Craven (up 17).

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today. Both were at Scarborough Hospital.

That takes the total at 263. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
