Saturday update: One more coronavirus case confirmed in York – more in North Yorkshire

One more coronavirus case has been confirmed in York today (Saturday, 5 September).

That takes the cumulative total to 983 – an overall infection rate of 466.7 cases per 100,000 people.

In North Yorkshire, 14 new cases were confirmed today, taking the cumulative total to 2,794 – an infection rate of 452.1 cases per 100K.

There are 147 cases in Ryedale (no change), 353 in Selby (up three), 799 in Harrogate (up five), 344 in Hambleton (up three), 585 in Scarborough (up three), 289 in Richmondshire (no change) and 277 in Craven (no change).

There were no more coronavirus related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust reported today – the total remains at 214. The last death recorded within the trust was on 18 June.

The total includes 134 in York Hospital and 80 in Scarborough.
