Monday update: One coronavirus-related death at York Hospital – but case rate falls

There was one more coronavirus-related death in York Hospital and a further 41 cases reported in the city today (Monday, 9 November).

This takes the cumulative total to 4,193 – giving an overall infection rate of 1,990.8 cases per 100,000 people.

In the last seven days there have been 369 positive Covid-19 tests in York – which is down by 58 (-13.6%).

The rolling seven-day rate in York is 179.0 new cases per 100,000 people (377 cases in the week to 5 November). That’s down from 190.4 in the previous seven days (401 cases in the week to 29 October).

In North Yorkshire, there were 249 new confirmed Covid-19 cases today, taking the cumulative total to 10,150 – an infection rate of 1,642.3 cases per 100K.

There are 526 cases in Ryedale (up 13), 1,549 in Selby (up 15), 2,971 in Harrogate (up 61), 1,396 in Hambleton (up 26), 1,871 in Scarborough (up 103), 823 in Richmondshire (up 24) and 1,014 in Craven (up seven).

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths reported by York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust today – one in York Hospital and one in Scarborough.

That takes the total to 242. We don’t have an up-to-date breakdown of that figure between York and Scarborough Hospitals.
