The school hit by a sickness outbreak will reopen tomorrow, City of York Council has said.
Copmanthorpe Primary School closed on Monday (November 26) after more than 50 staff and pupils became ill following a suspected norovirus outbreak.
It will reopen on Thursday morning (November 29). A City of York Council spokeswoman said:
-
A full deep clean of the school buildings and equipment has been carried out and the incubation period has now passed.
It is vitally important for the elimination of this outbreak that children are not sent to school until they are 48 hours clear of any symptoms.
The decision to close the school was taken following consultation with the council’s public health team and Public Health England. Over 50 pupils and staff were affected by the outbreak.
The school will not be making any further statement at this time.
