The NHS will be 70 on Thursday (July 5) and York’s libraries are joining the party.
Four libraries York are inviting people to pop in for a cuppa and a chat.
A spokeswoman for Explore York said: “We are joining the City Of York Council, York CVS, the Vale of York Clinical Commissioning Group and Healthwatch York in their aim to combat loneliness one cuppa at a time.”
York, Acomb, Clifton and Tang Hall Explores are celebrating NHS70 next week.
You will be able to sign a card giving your thanks to the NHS and make a pledge to say how you will improve your own health and support your neighbours and people in your community to improve theirs.
The spokewsoman said: “Everyone is welcome to come in for a cup of tea and a chat. It’s a perfect opportunity to meet new people in your community.”
The NHS7tea events will be on the following dates:
- Tang Hall Explore, Wednesday, 4 July, 10.30am-12.30pm
- York Explore, Wednesday, 4 July, 2.30-3.30pm
- Acomb Explore, Thursday, 5 July, 12.30-2pm
- Clifton Explore, Thursday, 5 July, 2.30-3.30pm
