Here’s the latest spooky manifestation in our city of ghosts.

Just a few days before Halloween this footage was recorded in the Lamb & Lion Inn on High Petergate.

The CCTV camera appears to show a ghostly form at the doorway of the old pub, parts of which date back to the 1700s.

Since the clip was shared by the pub on Facebook it has caused a lively discussion.

Some see the figure of a girl walking through the door, near to an oblivious member of staff.

Others have declared it a trick of the light – or a cobweb dangling near the camera.

As one commenter puts it: “Unless a staff member at the lamb and lion has some impressive video editing skills, it’s a bit weird.”

Look at the footage and judge for yourself. If you dare…

  1. I used to work in a restaurant called la romantica on goodramgate. It’s now a Spanish tapas place I think. I often used to see a little girl, maybe 8 or 9 years old with long wavy ginger hair and a white pinafore on over her dress. She would run up and down the stairs.
