Another York shop has taken the decision to close its doors and trade online only.
The team behind Rise & Shine Living has announced the Fossgate shop closes this week.
In a statement, the family behind the store said: “This week we have made the heartbreaking decision to permanently close our doors at Rise and Shine Living – York.
“This isn’t a decision we have taken lightly, it has been our second home over the last two years.”
Rise & Shine Living was opened in November 2018 by Jessica Heyland and her boyfriend, former Huntington School student Seb Murgatroyd. It sells gifts, homeware and beauty products.
They met at Leeds Beckett University. Jessica’s mum opened the first Rise and Shine Living in North Devon and the couple decided to open a York branch.
Click and collect
“We have met some amazing people throughout our journey and really appreciate every single person that has walked through our door or supported us via social media,” they said.
It is still operating a click and collect service at Fossgate on orders placed by Sunday at midday. More on the website.
Customers were saddened to lose the physical shop. One said: “Really sad – I love your shop. Best of luck with the online venture. I will still be a customer!”
Earlier this week we reported how Walter & May on Scarcroft Road was also closing to go online only.
