The first section of the new-look area in front of York Minster has been opened to the public.

The cycle path is now accessible – but to pedestrians only. To avoid accidents in such a tight space, cyclists are asked to dismount and wheel their bike through for now.

Work continues on the piazza which is due to open in early summer. Minster Gates is now closed off as the next stage begins.
