York St John University has a reputation for doing things differently and that is certainly true of its public events.
Not everyone realises that YSJ hosts a lively programme of talks and workshops open to the general public throughout the year – many of them free.
And they are on a diverse range of subjects. Many of them are hugely topical, like the exploration of body image among men, women and teenage girls (see Mar 6 below).
Or the talk by Prof Helen Sauntson about how changing the words we use around LGBT+ issues will help to deliver social justice.
Lots of them offer very practical advice too. As part of York Literature Festival, YSJ is hosting five top UK editors and agents offering invaluable insight into how to get your book published (Mar 26).
Here are the latest events to get into your diary.
