Great food, drink, music and company – could there be a better way to start the weekend?
Some of York’s finest purveyors of street food are taking part in a series of Friday night events at Shambles Food Court over the summer.
Collectively known as #FridayFeeling the outdoor get-togethers start this Friday (June 23) with tasty dishes served alongside local beers, a selection of wines and ciders and non-alcoholic drinks.
Food includes
authentic French savoury and sweet pancakes served by KREP from their vintage Citroen van
North African and Levantine dishes, locally sourced and globally inspired by Los Moros
free-range and organic ostrich burgers from food court newcomers I Love Ostrich.
Eat up and wind down
The new early evening events have been organised to offer a different way to wind down from work by eating outdoors with friends or family.
York vinyl experts Heart of Wax and The Vault York will be playing summer tunes, and you can browse and buy their records.
City centre and markets manager Chris Price said:
The support for our street food businesses has been superb and we hope to see a good turn-out for our first Friday Feeling evening event and look forward to making the most of the summer evenings.
A schedule of #FridayFeeling events is being planned throughout summer months until September 1, running from 5pm-8pm.
