The Black Bull has gone blue.
The large pub on Hull Road, York, has had a major facelift. And invited guests were given an early peek at the new look on Wednesday (April 5).
Gone is the whitewashed exterior and red neon sign. The exterior is now a tasteful blue.
Inside it has plush new carpets, wingback chairs and a large, horseshoe-shaped booth.
A large games area at one end boasts a pool table, darts and a large, pull-down screen for showing live sport.
Among the large selection of drinks on the bar is extra-cold Heineken served in chilled glasses. The menu includes a large range of mains, including burgers, steaks, fish and chips and veggie options, with prices ranging from £5.49 to £14.29 for a 20oz rump steak.
The Lord Mayor, Cllr Dave Taylor, and Lady Mayoress, Susan Ridley, attended the opening. Guests were entertained by musician Robin Pickford.
The Lord Mayor even duetted with Robin in a chorus of Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.
The Black Bull, which comes under the Sizzling Pubs brand of pub group Mitchells & Butlers, reopens to all on Thursday (April 6) with the popular speed quiz.
