He’s better known for stirring up emotions with his soulful singing than for whisking up a top Yorkshire pud.
But John Newman hit the York Roast Co on Low Petergate to show what he could do with a batter mix.
The musician, best-known for his number one hit Love Me Again, was joining the Great Yorkshire Pudding Challenge.
Launched by the York Roast Co, inventors of smash-hit fast food the Yorky Pud wrap, the challenge has set out to find the next ground-breaking Yorkshire pudding creation.
Originally from Settle, John is a big fan of the delicacy. With his band, John handed out free samples to shoppers ahead of his sell-out gig at the Crescent Community Venue.
