Fire crews tackle blaze at historic forge near York

Two York fire crews were called out to a blaze at an historic forge early this morning (Monday).

Firefighters from York and Huntington responded to reports that the forge in Murton was alight at 12.15am.

A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The forge measured approximately six by six metres.

“Crews used one hose reel, thermal imaging camera and lighting.”
