York police are continuing their campaign against house burglaries in the city with another arrest, and the hunt for a suspect.
A 45-year-old man from York, was arrested just after 3.30am on Wednesday 21 August 2013, on Newton Terrace on suspicion of a burgling a house in the street.
It follows a report that two men had been seen entering the property shortly before 3.30am the same day.
After the burglary, both men left the address on bicycles.
The second man headed towards Custance Walk, where a number of stolen items and the bicycle were recovered by officers.
The arrested man remains in police custody.
Detective Constable Matt Dodson, of York CID, said: “If you have any information that could help to identify the suspect we still need to trace in connection with this burglary, I ask you to contact the police straight away.”
