On Saturday, June 22, Vintage Trouble made a triumphant return to Fibbers in York in one of the headlining gigs they have squeezed in during their UK tour opening for The Who – and before their Glastonbury slot.
Later this summer, they open for The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park.
The Fibbers show was all that a VT show should be – great songs, driving music, crowd interaction and dancing… plenty of dancing. And hot – maybe even hotter than last summer’s gig.
Before the show, ably helped by my son, Will, as assistant cameraman, I met up with the band in the dark and dreary depths behind the bar at Fibbers to chat about how they got to where they are now, their stage presence, and what the forthcoming show could hold … here’s the edited highlights.
