The family of a man found dead in a York flat earlier this week have paid tribute to him.
Shaun Skelton was a family man and a football fan who will be missed, his loved ones said.
They issued this statement via North Yorkshire Police:
He was a quiet man who kept himself to himself with a love of pet birds and was an avid Leeds United supporter.
He will be sadly missed by us all.
Mr Skelton died on Sunday (March 5) at the flat in Chancery House, Holgate Road, York.
A police spokeswoman said: “Shaun’s family have asked that the media do not try to contact them and allow them to grieve in peace at this very difficult time.”
A 19-year-old man from York has been charged with Mr Skelton’s murder and is due to appear in court next month.
